My name is Sam Sisco. I’m a graphic designer based in Eastern Nebraska with over five years of experience in marketing communications. I enjoy working with others to craft effective solutions for a variety of communications needs. I value hard work, honesty, and quality craftsmanship. While at UNL, I’ve held two positions, Graphic Design Specialist and Senior Design Specialist. In 2023 I was promoted to Senior Design Specialist and began supervising a junior graphic designer. I’ve had a hand in transforming the visual language of the university’s undergraduate recruitment communications and I also helped manage the overarching university brand while serving on UNL’s Visual Communicators Network leadership committee. I built email, digital ad, and slide deck templates, making a unified look, and streamlined process for digital communications. I developed a comprehensive style guide that guides communications for all Academic Services and Enrollment Management. I’ve been a part of two award winning campaigns, a multi-page web project and a physical self-mailer. I’ve learned to build strong relationships with partners and vendors and enjoy the process of collaboration.
I worked at Middle Creek Printing during my last year of college. During my time there, I aided in a company rebrand as the name changed from Sports Express to Middle Creek Printing. On a daily basis I designed artwork for apparel, signage, and promotional products. The fast-paced work environment taught me how to manage multiple projects at once. And I learned how to collaborate with others to create high quality products while meeting deadlines. This position offered valuable technical experience I’ve drawn from throughout my career.
At Concordia University I worked with students and faculty in the Department of Art to fulfill print orders on large format laser printers. I helped troubleshoot printing problems, performed general printer upkeep and calibrated Mac monitors in the design lab. I also helped mentor other graphic design students when needed.
I’ve taken on a few freelance projects here and there since 2018. Notable projects I’ve worked on include a church brand guide, a convention logo, and marketing and branding for two local rock bands. These, and other projects have helped me grow as a communicator and stay sharp in the ever-changing marketing communication landscape.

I love to spend time with my family. I like to work on DIY projects and I’m always happy to get outdoors. My family likes taking trips to Nebraska's state parks and we like campfires and s'mores. We have a small dog named Fred. We enjoying watching movies. And we love visiting grandparents and spending time on the farm.
